The Political Parties and Star Wars

Language Arts today was SO much fun. One, all we did was talk about the political parties and Star Wars, and second, it was a block day, so that pretty much took two class periods. Back to Star Wars, it was one of my classmates' b-days today, and she got a shot gun. So my teacher, being from Illinois, started telling us about how the lower part of Illinois is mostly Republican because they go hunting a lot (don't ask me WHY that makes sense). Then someone wanted to know what the political parties really were, so we had to go back into history to learn about how the parties pretty much split after Washington. Then the b-day girl asked if the Republican party was like the Republic in Star Wars. That really got us started. Me, the person behind me, and the b-day girl were in a heated disscusion about what happened to the Republic's leader, what movie it happened in, and such. I just love days where we do nothing...
